Transformative Agreement: Springer Nature

Transformative agreements are contracts negotiated between institutions and publishers that transform the business model underlying scholarly publishing towards a fully open access model.

Springer Nature Open Access Agreement

More than 20 institutions are participating in the transformative agreement between Springer Nature and Konsortium Sumber Elektronik Pendidikan Tinggi (KONSEPt), meaning that corresponding authors* affiliated with participating institutions are eligible to publish their articles OA with fees covered, in Springer Nature's portfolio of hybrid journals. In addition, UniMAP community can optimize access to full-text articles from 2,000 journals published by Springer, Adis, Palgrave and Academic Publishing, covering the years 1997 to present. 

*Acting as main contact for Springer Nature correspondence after editorial acceptance.

Article Types Covered Under This Agreement

  • Original Paper: Standard article, usually presenting new results; articles published under this article type may also be referred to as Original Research, Original Article, Original Paper or Research Paper.
  • Review Paper: Standard article, interpreting previously published results.

Authors Eligibility

  • Be submitted by a Corresponding Author who is a current staff member, faculty member (permanent, temporary and visiting), researcher (permanent, temporary and visiting), or student of The University Malaysia Perlis.
  • Be accepted and approved for publication ending 31st December 2025.
  • Using Universiti Malaysia Perlis official email address upon submission.
  • Clearly stated the Universiti Malaysia Perlis affiliation.
  • UniMAP researchers can publish 20 open-access articles without any Article Processing Charges (APC) in 2025.
