Turnitin - a Plagiarism Prevention Tool

How to?

1. There are two categories of Turnitin account holders:

a) Account Instructor (Lecturer / Academic Staff)

b) Student Account (Graduate / Post Graduate)

2. To register the Turnitin Instructor Account, please fill in and submit the online form provided.

3. To register a Student Account, please fill in and submit the online form provided. Students may also apply an account from the respective supervisor's.                                                                                                     

Terms and Conditions

1. User accounts that do not have complete or pseudo-name details will be deleted from the system.

2. User account under the instructors  category who do not use UniMAP email will not be approved for registration.

3. All submissions (final submission) of the full-text thesis and Final Year Project (FYP) report will be stored as an archive or standard repository.

4. Priority will be given to the following user categories:

a) Academic staff who supervise postgraduate students.

b) Academic staff who supervise the final year student project.

c) Academic staff and administrators involved in the process of quality evaluation and screening.

d) Any individual or group that needs to perform screening and quality check of the writing if there is a surplus of user license quotas.

5. Academic staff who do not supervise undergraduate or postgraduate students and have to perform a quality review for their own publications should apply through the library by activating accounts within a limited period.

6. The library reserves the right to take any action in the form of restriction or delete the user's account if the related activity does not comply with the rules set.
