IEEE AUTHORSHIP WORKSHOP 2019 

Applicable to Academic Staff and Postgraduate Students 

United Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. will be conducting the IEEE Authorship Workshop at Universiti Malaysia Perlis.

Date : 05th November 2019 (Tuesday)

Time : 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.

Venue : Auditorium, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Library, Universiti Malaysia Perlis

 

Objective: 
Participants will be discussed based on the essential learning notes to contribute either a journal or conference proceeding article on the IEEE Xplore  as part of their scholarly communication activities, such as : 

  1. Introduction to IEEE & IEEE Xplore - a resource digital library
  2. Writing for a journal or conference proceedings - the difference
  3. The format (structure) of an IEEE paper
  4. Ethics in writing
  5. Understanding IEEE journals site on IEEE Xplore
  6. Finding a conference's call for paper on IEEE Xplore
  7. Using the Journal recommendation tool
  8. Understanding & use the functionalities of IEEE Xplore via creating a personal account & access full text
  9. Search Strategies to advanced searching to aid your academic studies
  10. Discover & browsing related articles to support your research activities. Browsing the collections in the platform​ 

 

INVITED PRESENTER

Mr. Alex Liu

IEEE Client Services Manager

Southeast Asia

Mr. Alex works with IEEE customers in the following countries: Australia, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brunei.
 

Mr. Alex was an academic librarian from the National University of Singapore libraries, with 9 years of experience in various functional areas including reference services, digital resources, user education, reference management, etc. Prior to joining IEEE, he has also worked in the Corporate Records and Information Services division at Economic Development Board, a statutory board of the Government of Singapore, to provide market research and monitoring services for the organization. Mr. Alex has a Master's degree in Information Studies from Nanyang Technological University.
