Course Synopsis

The course focuses on the fundamental principles of contemporary logistics management. It involves the roles and contributions of logistics management in ensuring successful supply chain management process (plan, implementation, control); the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow; storage of goods, services and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customers’ requirements.
It then focuses on the additional competitive pressures and reengineering possibilities generated by the rapid advances in Information Technology (IT) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technologies. The final part of the course covers transportation management which highlights the multi-modal transportation.
