Course Synopsis

This course provides an overview of biotechnology industry, from the traditional to the recent high-technology industries. The course also highlights important and recent advances in methods and applications of biotechnology with regards to microorganisms and plants. The importance major biotechnological streams; industrial biotechnology, agricultural biotechnology, medical biotechnology and environmental biotechnology will be discussed,
including recent advances and modern processes. Aspects on ethical implications, safety and intellectual will also be covered.
