The functions of accounting within a business are to record, measure and summarize transactions in a form that will help managers in monitoring, planning, control and making decisions. Businesses are also bound by statue to report the results of their accounting externally and in a particular form. This course will cover the recording and measuring of transactions, specifically the double entry system, preparation of financial statements for different types of business organizations, interpretations of financial statements, the valuation of asset and liabilities and the framework for the preparation and presentation of financial statements.
